I saw this film on telly about 10 years ago and one of the things that I remembered was the use of the Beatles song A Day In The Life over the scattering of the ashes, climaxing with the track's thunderous piano at the end. I watched it again recently on DVD and found this same scene to be rather poor, using a badly produced cover instead. My question is, was A Day In The Life replaced for the DVD or do I just have a false memory?

Don't think you have a false memory; I video'd it off the TV in 1998 and that version did end with 'A Day in the Life' - the original version, as far as I could tell.
