Why is Dutch so pissed at Dillon?

help shine some light on it...

So Technically, Dutch says at the biginning that they are a rescue team, not assassins, well ok.. so they aren't rescuing little children or the president, but CIA agents.. wich WERE prisonners of the guerillas after all, no?

So in the end,why is he so angry? And why the need for Dillon to manipulate and lie to him to get him to tag along?

I think Dutch's feelings got hurt when he was called "Expendable" and was used to get the job done.

Dutch is angry because Dillon lied and said they were rescuing a cabinet minister.
Dillon lied because getting caught and potentially killed is a known risk of being a CIA agent. It's not Dutch's job to rescue people like that. Lying convinced Dutch to take the job.

Make sense?

Coz he used him to get the job done, got it?

Hahaha. One of a hundred amazing quotes in this film

Mostly because Dillon lied about why they were going in and if Dutch had known the real reason (which he considered to be dirty work) he never would have agreed. Plus Hopper was killed (by the Predator) attempting to rescue Dillon's men and Dillon more than likely lied to them as well. Then he called Dutch's men "expendable" which just rubbed salt in the wound. This didn't make Dillon a villain, it just made him a dishonest slimeball.

I don't think Dutch was pissed about the assignment, he was pissed because he and his men were being used.

At last! Someone who actually paid attention and understood the movie! Thank you, SpaceAce, and congratulations on having both concentration and an attention span. I am increasingly seeing questions on this site generated by posters who couldn’t be bothered to take their faces out of their phones and actually watch the program.
