Planes, Trains and Automobiles and Onward are the same movie.

Two characters go on a journey with limited time to get there. They face constant obstacles along the way, some are their fault, some aren't, that limit their means of transportation. They almost get arrested at one point. One keeps dragging down the other and they constantly fight, but stick together the whole time because they have no other choice.

At the end, they split up, but then realize that the other character is what was important the whole time. The annoying character has a tragic backstory that explains why they're so annoying to the other. They get back together and the movie ends.

When I saw Planes Trains And Automobiles with my mom and dad Mom told me the exact same thing that I think Disney got inspired to create Onward from Planes Trains And Automobiles and I'm surprised Paramount didn't sue Disney for copying Planes Trains And Automobiles when they created Onward. Because if you look at it Ian Lightfoot is based on Neil Page and Barley Lightfoot is based on Del Griffith and it seems that Barley's clothing is based on Del's clothing too. I think Disney planned to use Planes Trains And Automobiles as inspiration for Onward much like the comedy Three Amigos was inspired for A Bug's Life
