Okay so i was a kid when i saw this movie so i may have just been hearing things so someone please clear this up with me. There is a part where Eileen Brennan's character goes to Pippi's house and tries to convince her to live in the Children's Home. Instead something falls on her and she gets all full of this powdery stuff and leaves the house angrily. As she is walking away, Pippi's pet monkey has a hold of something and Eileen Brennan says, "Oh give it here..." and she finishes by calling him a name. I can swear up and down that she calls him a bitch but I cannot understand why they would include that in a children's movie. I use to play it over and over and I still have the copy of it somewhere at home when we taped it on HBO. Is this what she's says? If it is that's pretty damn funny.

i was 7 when this came out, and i remember my parents beingmad about the swear word being in there, but i dont know what it was.

I just bought this movie for my kids and we put the subtitles on...it says "you wretch".

I was like 6 yaers old when the show was in nickelodeon! Im 13 right now, and man, I still remember she used to be so good making pancakes! hahhahahha
those were the days when I was a kid!!!! lol Im joking!

Dylan and Cole sprouse are such a hotties!!! my birthday is in 11 days (is in september 15) yay!. I am turning 14.

that's funny, when I was a kid we detected swear words in this too!

The same part you're talking about! when she gets caught in the SPLUNK trap and Pippi goes to help her, it sounds like she says "get away, get off, F* off!"

i'm guessing she said "bug off" but it certainly sounds like the f word! We really got a kick out of that. At one point when pippi is asking the orphans what ice cream they like, the head girl also says "bug off, it's against the rules!" and with her heavy brit accent it also sounds like "f off."

oh, the things that amuse you when you're a kid...that you still remember as an adult!

I just watched this yesterday, and I could of sworn there was at least one curse word in that scene haha.

That's WAY WEIRD!

My sister and I used to watch this film back in the late 80's/early 90's, and we could've sworn that the girl said '*beep* off'.

Back then, it didn't occur to me that there was such a thing as bad words, or bad words that were worse than other bad words (like comparing 'damn' to *beep*)

I think she says "bug off"... hahaa I can't believe how many people agree on the swearing. Maybe it's because most of us watched it in our childhood when everything was a potty-joke, lol.

I just watched it today with my friend and when that scene came on we had to rewind it three times, we eventually came to the conclusion that it said "Bug off".

Am I the only one that never thought there was swearing? Then again, I watched enough British shows even then to be able to understand 'bug off,' at least. I was always obsessed with England.

I really don't remember the other one, so I don't know what I thought of that.

Hi Fans and Friends,

It's a great movie and the legend of Pippi still lives on with the release originally in 13 languages worldwide in 88, re-release on DVD in 2000 and re-release with Danny Devito and Rhea Pearlman's movie "Matilda" as a Double Feature, wow that's longevity.

The Director Ken Annakin is an Academy Award Nominee, Disney Legend (there are only about 25 Disney Legends in the world), and a Disney Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient.

I have the original Movie Scripts and there aren’t any swear words in the movie. It's great for all ages. Enjoy!!!

I watched it yesterday as an adult...
Bug off sounds like 'f off'
Wretch sounds like 'b^%#h'

Pretty amusing :-)
