did anyone come see this?

over the past three weeks or so i have starred in the play that this was based on, playing Julie Jackson. i was just wondering if anyone came to see it - we toured it around High Wycombe, Lyme Regis and Fuengirola in Spain.

but that's just me.

So how did it go? I didn't see the stage play, but I just watched the film with Teri Garr and Ellen Burstyn.

wow, yeah, it was a while ago but it went ok.
i have to say though that it was the most boring thing i have ever been in (not that i've been in much!). but the cast was cool and yeah (Y)
i've never seen the film, but we bought it and my parents fell asleep within the first half hour - what's it like?

but that's just me.

I'm glad you made it through the play. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the subject matter was boring. I was trying to be polite in case you took it really seriously.

I have to say I was really disappointed in the film. I'm a big Ellen Burstyn fan, and I was glad to finally get my hands on this DVD. She's very good in it (with a British accent, no less!), but frankly the script and direction are very bland. The big problem is that the government agents who take over the Jacksons' house appear to be much more of a menace than the Schaefers next door. I fully expected a twist at the end that the Jacksons had unknowingly opened their door to spies because the film never really builds a case that the Schaefers were that much of a threat.

Anyway, this is very much a TV movie, with breaks where the commercials would go. It a fair film, but it sure didn't live up to my expectations. If you try to watch it again, I can't guarantee you'll stay awake!
