Perfect Blue

Is this movie similar to the anime film called "Perfect Blue" from 1997?

Probably not considering that it's older than Perfect Blue.

Yes, it is to an extent. Perfect Blue seemed to be very influenced by Argento's ouvre.

Yeah i guess they are similar except for the stories had nothing to do with each other, which i'm pretty sure is what the original poster was asking about

Woo someone already had that in mind. When I saw Opera for the first time I immediately thought of Perfect Blue. They have nothing to do with each other but I'm sure the director not only took from Hitchcock, he must have borrowed from Argento as well. I've wanted to see Dario direct a live action since then.

I'm pretty sure it's a tie between Battlefield Earth and Pootie Tang for the greatest movies ever made.

Dude Perfect Blue was a complete mind-f uck the first time i watched it, it confused the hell out of me, but anyways, yes, it was pretty simular to Terror of The Opera.

I've never seen Perfect Blue (1997) but I'm aware it's very similar to Black Swan (2010)... which is a film which reminds me of Opera (1987) for some reason. So I guess there is something to the Opera > Perfect Blue > Black Swan connection.
