In the spirit of Halloween I watched Opera tonight for the first time. As a fan of horror I have to say this is an amazing film. Much better than Tenebre imo.
shareI liked this film but I prefer Tenebrae. I also like Deep Red and The Bird With The Crystal Plumage. Only film of Argento's that I've seen and haven't liked was Suspiria. His segment of Two Evil Eyes is good as well.

Keep the spirit alive! I watch opera every year around christmas/new years with my wife a big bottle of whisky. I get right into it, I love the soundtrack, the cinematography and espesualy the death scenes.
Probably one of my favourite films of all time, 80's rule!

I agree, pretty much everyone else on this is trashing the film. But I think it's an outstanding piece of horror, in my opinion.
shareYes, I just watched it today and it was pretty good. The scenes with the needles near the eyes really freaked me out and I could hardly stand to watch them. It's the most a scene in a movie has bothered me for a long while so that is a very good thing. I am glad I finally saw it.
shareI have a hard time picking between Tenebre and Opera, they're amongst Argentos best and amongst the best horror films of all time...I ever so slightly lean in favor of Tenebre but both are superb.
