R1 DVD

Does anyone know.. will there be a R1 DVD of this anytime soon? I know the remake is coming out in North America in July. Normally when a film is remade the studio buys the rights to the original and then releases it on DVD as part of the marketing. Any word on this for Pathfinder?
anyone?
please...

There is actually an R2 disc put out by Kinowelt in Germany. It has English subs and the transfer is great. You can find it at Amazon.de
http://www.amazon.de/Pathfinder-Mikkel-Gaup/dp/B0001IOZTS/

Copies occasionally turn up on Ebay put are usually pricy.

cheers for that! it really is a good film, I'm glad I'll be able to share it with my English friends now :=)

No problem mate. ;)

I was pretty jazzed when I found it. Had been looking for an age.

Still amazes me how well this film holds up over time - and proves you really don't need a huge budget and a star cast to deliver a worthy and timeless epic.

reply

Yeah, it really is a cracking film, done on a shoestring budget.

urgh i can't find it on DVD anywhere :(

The region 2 release, available at Amazon.de, has the original Sami language (listed as Norwegian, as well as English subtitles, and if I remember correctly, optional English soundtrack.
This is a great film.

Just ordered 3 copies from Amazon.de today. Very reasonable price.

I've seen a R1 DVD version on www.freewebs.com/vhs2dvd.

Can someone upload it to YouTube with English subs?

For anyone wondering, I just watched the new remastered edition Pidax Film PAL release of this great film and the picture quality is outstanding. Audio is excellent. Has Sami,English,German and Spanish audio options with English,German,Spanish and Portuguese subtitles. In my opinion the only way to see this is with the native Sami audio combined with subs of your choice, of course I used English subs. Great release by Pidax.
