Bad title for a serious drama

The movie was on one of the premium channels. At first glance my initial reaction was an 80s comedy. Some character is pretending to be "NUTS" to avoid jail. One of those 80s comedies that is box office disappointment but funnier than people remember.

Pretty sure it was intended as a commentary about how people were supposedly thinking of her character and her fight to beat that stigma.
