Freddy is still scary in this one.


Yeah, this is the movie where the character became more jokey, but to me, there are still a few moments where he is as scary as he was in the first one.

He absolutely is. There are two moments in the film that still give me chills: 1. When we first see him as he attempts to attack Kristen. 2. When we see him in the mirror during the second nightmare sequence.

I agree that he does still have some scary moments, like when he fights Taryn, him chasing Kristen in the opening scene, a few shots of him in the boiler room and elsewhere, and he's creepy in the shot when he says "It's BACK, in the saddle... again".

However, in much of the other shots, he's too jokey and lame, and that's why I prefer him from part II and even the original. Darker lighting in those two, less dialogue from Freddy, less jokes.

I didn't like this movie but I will say Freddy was still a respectable and scary villain. I don't hate funny Freddy but it got a little old after awhile.
