Nancy actually believed Joey destroyed Freddy?

I just thought Nancy was kinda stupid in the scene when they all get taken through the mirrors. ok Joey uses his dream power and screams really loud and all the mirrors break and they come back. Then Nancy thinks "Its over!" really Nancy? you think Joey screaming beat Freddy just like that? really? Nancy should have been smarter than that ffs.

It was definitely a set-up for the "shock" ending. I hate how a lot of horror franchises bring back returning characters to dumb them down. I remember even as a kid seeing that and thinking, "Really, Nancy, was it that simple?"

reply

Exactly, i mean Nancy even lit Freddy on fire in the original film and burnt him to a crisp and he was still alive and that was in the real world. So she thinks someone screaming really loud in the dream world can defeat him? it was just a sad way they ended her character who was so smart in the original film, and they really did dumb her character down in this.

This is what's always bugged me about this movie. Nancy completly ignores what she learned in the first one, as did the plot and everything else. I understand the souls were making him stronger, and they did address that, but the fact that they were all afraid of him should have played a bigger role and this should have been brought up in conversations from Nancy to the kids.

Who knows? Maybe she thought that was Freddy's weakness or something, to my knowledge, that was the first time Freddy kinda recoiled at that point in the series, so maybe she thought Joey held the key.

I'd say Nancy was to the point she coudl prolly sense Freddy's presence, but Freddy might've been so crafty he somehow withdrew his presence so she no longer sensed him to make her think he was gone.

I think they prolly tried to make her look aged and worn out a little, this was supposed to be about 6 years later from the 1st one and she had been through a lot, but really it was only like 3 years after the first one.

lol your over thinking it all it was was bad writing this is the best sequel because nancys back an the story continues properly an its the first to explore the dream world but its not a great movie like the original this is a really good sequel but not great the problems with this film is nancy is wasted an dose absolutely nothing in this film the second big problem is the dream warriors themselves dont even defeat freddy when the film is about kid empowerment that was a huge mistake an the biggest of the film still because of the fun characters an the witty lines an wonderful kills an imagination of the film it makes this the best sequel

In the first one she believes that simply turning her back on him destroys him. She believes that the "Dream Warriors" have a chance of beating him. She also is dealing with the possibility her dad was dead, so she wanted to believe she had this chance to say goodbye.

its because shes seen him do all most everything an the fact she has seen him take tremendous damage that was way worse then super sound lol you guys are such fan boys of heather theres no excuse an even she thinks it was stupid an retarded the way her character died an it was theres no excuse for her she has been smart in every time she was on screen in the original an this one now bam retarded theres no excuse dont be a fan boy an make excuses it was stupid the end

reply

nancy isnt stupid enough to believe freddy was dead your making excuses dude she had no ideas anything happened to her dad when he showed up though an got close to him like that without thinking her character was ruined out of pure stupidity theres no excuse for it she has seen freddy do an take more damage then anything imaginable if she thought he was defeated do to super sound then her character is worthless an thats one of the reason heather lankencamp herself dosent like this movie nancy knew dam well what freddy has shown power wise an she knew dam well what he has taken in terms of pain she would have to be a friggin idiot to think he died from that this is why i hate fan boys of films im not trying to be mean but people wake up an smell the coffe the writer thought it was stupid heather thought it was stupid wes craven thought it was stupid it was stupid

All the characters are stupid enough, until they figure out that one way to stop Freddy until you realize that wasn't the right way in the next movie. Freddie's rules keep changing.

freddys rules changing has nothing to do with being a retard only some one who is stupid would battle an kill something that clearly can change into anything an then fight them again having seen them go threw worse then think there dead from super sound then knowing they can be anything walks into death it was stupid im sorry nancy was good in the first but in this she sucked she was nothing an used for nothing she was wasted here an could have been left entirely out she was only there because wes thought he would direct an asked her back she was used bad here man theres no way around it this is the best sequel but its not as good as the first in any way so dont pretend its on the same level writing wise in terms of her

It is about Freddy changing the rules. This movie was supposed to be about the Dream Warriors. Nancy honestly felt they were the key to destroying Freddy. I didn't say this movie is as good as the other two. But based on the universe it is possible for Nancy to believe Freddy was defeated.

not once in the film did she state she believed they could beat him they went in at the last minute to save joy she actually thought with training they could the climax was them rushing in she thought they might have a chance if they fought together still the fact she though after everything shes seen that he died from super sound makes her character stupid theres no way around it even heathers acting was worse here her best performance is in new nightmare here she is slumming it her heart wasnt in this movie an you can see it in every frame she has never been a good actor but she is with the right director able to give a good performance with a character that works in her rang she works as nancy because shes good at being tough in a bitchy way like when shes screaming an yelling against freddy an attacking him in the original here having to be more adult she is lost she was to young looking for the part an she has nothing to do in this movie in new nightmare shes great but mostly because shes playing herself shes still not good at showing emotion like crying shes good at under playing it though in all honesty lisa wilcox from nightmare 4 is a better actor but wasnt in the better movies but heathers performance in new nightmare was slightly stronger then lisas do to wes knowing how to use her

none of the characters are all that bright, if they can beat Freddy in the previous movie, but get killed so easy in the next movie, or Freddy just keeps changing the rules in each movie.

no the difference in that is freddy has all ways been the strongest the rules dont change there are new ways to defeat freddy introduced in dream master freddy kills the rest of the dream warriors not because there stupid but simply because he all ways could kill them because nothing they ever did could ever hurt him heck in dream warriors freddy would have killed the mall if not for dr neil again its poor writing on the nancy character theres no excuse for it except that no body in dream master knew freddy was back an each dream warrior thought they were having a regular dream until they were surprised by freddy who would have killed them in dream warriors any way if not for dr neil the rules dont change they just introduce new ways to defeat freddy

reply

If in Dreammaster Freddy can be defeated by looking at his own reflection, then why isn't it possible, at least from the point of view from Nancy that having his reflections destroyed by a Dream Power, could destroy him?

And the simple fact that in each movie they make it look like he is defeated just to make up some new rule in the next movie. If he just can't be defeated then he should just have been alive and defeated all the heroes at the end of all the movies.

At this point Nancy probably could SENSE Freddy's presence, but Freddy also may have been powerful enough to trick her by "withdrawing" the feeling of his presence temporarily and make her THINK he was gone.

I thought Nancy once said, "He's here, I can FEEL him!", either in part 1 or 3.
