1) Original
2/3) Dream Warriors/New Nightmare (a tie)
4) Dream Master
5/6) Dream Child/Freddy's Revenge (another tie, both are stupid but fun)
7) Freddy's Dead
8) Freddy vs. Jason (I don't consider this a true Nightmare film, if Jason wasn't in it, it would be higher)

I only like four of the movies, and can't put them in exact order, but here they are:

A Nightmare On Elm Street
A Nightmare On Elm Street II Freddy's Revenge
A Nightmare On Elm Street III Dream Warriors
Wes Craven's New Nightmare

The other movies have a moment or two that is great, but overall they are bad movies and not much fun to watch.

The Original 1984 Classic of course tough I do adore all of the film's the proceeded it it is the absolute best for many reasons:
1)The Birth of the Franchise
2)Bringing a new twist on a stale genre.
3)The Tone
4)Heather Langenkamp as Nancy
The list could go on it's just a amazing film in every aspect.

The rest I really don't like

The original is my favorite, a close second is Part 3 Dream Warriors. Hate they all get killed off so fast in #4, but thats the way it goes in these movies.

Of the first 7, part 3 is the best. Then comes parts 4,5,6, and 7 in a tie. Then part 2. Part 1 is good but not nearly as good as the rest.
