The movie they SHOULDA made...
Boy oh boy.... If you can find it, there is a series of short stories by George R. R. Martin that frames the "universe" glimpsed in this terrible film.
They are collected in the book "Tuf Voyaging". The book is an expanded view of Mr. Martin's "universe"...
Having said that...Boy oh BOY, the lead novel about finding the ancient "Seed" ship waging bio-war on a dead planet until Tuf and his crew re-find it...!!!!
BTW "Rica Dawnstar" in the novel, if I remember correctly, had the same sort of characteristics that Catherine Stewart had in the film...just saying........
