KABOOM!!!!!!!!

this explosive, smoldering comedy from the 80's should make for a toasty good time. nice girls dont explode simply ignites the screen with volatile performances. ms. harris is absolute dynamite, ms. meyrink sizzles as the young girl who starts fires at the drop of a hat and william o'leary as her old flame ready to rekindle their romance---there's some real fireworks goin' on here! oh ya wallace shawn's in it too--and he's having a blast! so next time youre in the mood for a real powderkeg of an evening---pick up a copy of this scorcher whereever videos are burned...er...sold. its a surefire way to leave a spark in your heart.

Funny, funny script. Too bad the budget was so low, because this movie is really a crackup.

"...can you say dipillatory?"

Hehe.

They used to play this on HBO all the time when I was a kid. Low budget but very very funny. I wish it was available on netflix.

Just did a lookup for Barbara Harris and this movie came up that brings back memories. I lived in Overland Park during the mid '80s and making this movie locally was quite the "hot topic" around town. I worked for a company that took appointments for the movie promoter who was looking to hire a girl to be "blown up" using explosives as a stunt at the movie premiere in Kansas City. Rather strange and mysterious folks... but those were the days!

I remember when they filmed the last scene at Regency Park Motel (Glenwood Manor) some friends and I were watching them set the car on fire, and 1 friend took a picture of it, they took the camera from him, took out the film, and handed it back to him.I could never sit through the movie, but did catch that scene. I think it was the final scene.

I had not heard of this movie until recently when I was looking up the credits for Wallace Shawn, so I picked up a copy of the movie and started watching it just a few minutes ago. At 22 minutes into the movie, a police car rolls through the scene and I had to stop and take another look at it because the shield and the way that "Police" is written on the car looked so much like the style used on the cop cars in my hometown of Lawrence. Lo and behold, according to IMDB, the movie was filmed right here in Lawrence, Kansas. When this was filming, I was in high school and never heard a thing about it though I would have expected to with the crowd with whom I was hanging around at the time. Oh well! Fun to see something like that on the "big screen."
