Near Dark vs The Lost Boys

Which do you think is better?

reply

Each is great in its own way. There’s no need to compare.

reply

Of course there’s no need it’s just fun.

The Lost Boys is more of a comic-book adventure. This one had more grit and darkness.

I love them both for different reasons

Near Dark is the better movie overall I think but I like both. Bill Paxton's performance in Near Dark is awesome

The Lost Boys by a wide margin. I used to think that they are the two best vampire movies but just watched again Near Dark and maaan.... Such a lame movie. Writing is epically bad. Dialogues, characters, narration. Painful to watch. It felt like half of the movie takes place on the same block and characters randomly get in and out just to tell each other some non-sense. The strong cast is underutilized. Adrian Pasdar was either miscast or too inexperienced to leave any impression. Only Bill Paxton is fun to watch. Audio apparently was added in post-production with poor results.

This movie is all about posturing. The generic 80s pop rock, the costumes, the attitude.

I have to reduce my IMDb rating from 7 to 5.

I LOVE BOTH BUT NEITHER ARE PERFECT...I SUPPOSE THE LOST BOYS...BUT BILL PAXTON MAKES IT AWFUL CLOSE.
