Some Redemption for Time Magazine

I've recently made it a goal to see all of Time's Top 100 movies, and after a string of disappointments in "Wild Reeds", "Ulysses' Gaze" and "Mouchette", I finally found one that while perhaps not being among the 100 greatest films of all time is certainly worth a view.
Anyone who likes the Godfather I and/or II (which going by the IMDB user ratings is a lot of people) will almost certainly enjoy this story. Really the only problem is that sometimes the parallels are TOO obvious, such as the "spreading the ashes" scene and its relationship to the baptism in Godfather I. There also seem to be a couple allusions (whether intentional or not) to Scarface, but that could just be me reading into it too much.
Overall, though, the story is engaging and the lead actor (Kamal Haasan) delivers a fine performance. I'd highly recommend this (I'm a very harsh critic and give it a B+), and kudos to Schickel and Corliss for including it in their list.
