Scene in the backyard: Confrontation with daughter

The scene in the backyard, where Charumathi confronted her father after seeing the person Selva had just beaten up; wasn't that just amazing?
That scene told me RIGHT there that was the best Indian movie I have ever seen with the best actor I have ever seen giving his best performance.
I didnt watch this with subtitles but I watched this when I was 10 and didnt really appreciate it much...but I watched it again after a long gap, 16 years old and I truly realise what a powerful movie this is.

If there was like a Best supporting actress award, Charumathi's character should've atleast gotten a nomination for her excellent acting.

Man I watch this scene like everyday

Spoilers

The scene where Velu was looking for the commissioner at his house and found out his daughter married him, check out the great acting without dialogue by Kamal Hassan when he heard his grandson's voice. Fantastic acting, no words just facial expression. An indian Robert De Niro this guy.
