The are two main songs in the movie, both by a group called Intimate Strangers. The first song is called What Are You Waiting For, and the other song is Let Go. I managed to get the cassette tape they put out in the 80's but they appear to have never released a cd.
Ok, I just dug out my cassette tapes, and the tape is Charm by Intimate Strangers.

shareYou were very lucky indeed to find a cassette of Intimate Strangers. They had a vaguely Men at Work/Fixx vibe, but they were original enough to stand on their own. Someday I hope to come across them in the bins.
