Dialect/accent

This is one of the few movies in which the Appalachian dialect/accent was perfect and sounded authentic. Usually, moviemakers really mess up when they try to imitate a certain accent or dialect. It usually sounds phony and contrived.
The accent in this movie was beautifully right on mark. I know some people think it's a 'redneck/country' sound but I've always thought the true Appalachian accent/dialect to be lovely.

They must have had a great dialect coach because they got it right on this one.

I thought it was almost perfect, though I did notice Mrs. Elkins sound more northern a few times
