Other actors besides Frank Langella for the role of Skeletor...

Frank Langella was perfect in the role, but I still wonder what these actors would've been like, and they are:

Jack Palance, since some people thing Skeletor looks like him with most advanced-stages of leprosy.

Christopher Lee, who looks like an older blue-eyed version of FL.

Peter Cushing, although pretty old at the time.

Patrick Stewart.

Ian McKellen.

Gary Oldman.

Roy Scheider, who worked with FL in The Men's Club.

Daniel J. Travanti.

John Anderson, also very-old at the time.

Michael Conrad, also of 'HSB' and already dead at the time ('HSB' actor Jon Cypher was in the film).

Willem Dafoe.

David Carradine.

Henry Silva.

Michael Ansara.

Patrick Macnee.

Richard Harris.

Alan Rickman.

Leonard Nimoy.

John de Lancie.

Richard Anderson.

Jim Carter.

Ronnie Cox.

Michael Ironside.

David Warner.

Christopher Walken.

I've never noticed Skeletor's resemblance to Jack Palance, but since you mentioned it I can totally see it. He was tall and could play a spooky dude, so I figure that he would have made for a good choice. Christopher Lee would have also been nice since he does remind me of Langella. Also, I think that Langella would have been equally good as Count Dooku and Saruman. Willem Dafoe does have a soft of skeletal quality to him if that makes any sense. And he's still capable of playing the role now given the fact that he's not super old.

Yes, I too did not notice the resemblance between Jack Palance and Skeletor until I read it. Then like you I suddenly did notice it...somewhat. Now I'm interest to know why you name yourself after Galvatron but yet have a profile pic of Skeletor??

The Galvatron name was from when I registered about eleven years ago. The Skeletor pic is somewhat recent. I like the movie and just went with it for my profile pic. I had Norman Mighty Max for a long time and wanted to change it.

The actor I could most see in the role of Skeletor besides Frank Langella is Christopher Lloyd. Had he not been Doc I wonder if the producers would've thought of him and made Frank compete against him.

I usually think of Christopher Lloyd in more benevolent roles, yet he was creepy as Judge Doom and as that guy in Dennis the Menace. I gotta believe that he could pull-off Skeletor given those roles and also Kruge from Star Trek III and Uncle Fester. Obviously Fester wasn't a villain, but he was over the top and somewhat spooky. It's something that Lloyd is a fairly tall guy, yet as Uncle Fester he seemed kinda short. If padding him up to make him bulky just made him look shorter because he's a lanky guy or what?

IF MotU was made in the 50s or 60s then I would see Chuck Connors as He-Man and while some (or even most) see Jack Palance as Skeletor I'd like to see Gregory Peck in the role.

Somehow Christopher Lloyd and Art Carney in their mannerisms and behavior remind me of each other. They could've played father and son while Art was still alive.

IF this had came-out mid 50s to before 1970 I'd think of Gregory Peck as a possibility for the role of Skeletor.
