Any other guilty pleasure movies you like?

I also like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990, the first movie, the second not so) and Super Mario Bros. (the 1993 film). Do you have any other similar cult films?

I don't consider this or TMNT a guilty pleasure since I don't feel bad about liking them. I have no problem telling people how good they are.

i don't feel bad for liking them, but i wouldn't necessarily call them good either- at least not in the sense that they make good application of film making craft that makes them appealing to a broad audience.

there's a reason movies like back to the future are considered classics of the genre and given the royal treatment with each dvd release, and why movies like MOTU are considered mere catalog titles and quickly wind up in bargain bins.

to be fair, MOTU and TMNT suffered from severe limitations from the studios in charge.

I have to agree with the Op that this is a bit of a guilty pleasure. For what it is, it's a decent movie. Langella and Cypher put in some good performances. But at it's heart, this movie is still about a guy who runs around in his underwear fighting evil. It's good cheese, but cheese nonetheless. It has heart and I love it for that, but it's hokey, I don't think that can be denied.

I don't consider it a guilty pleasure cuz I'm not ashamed of it, yet it isn't good per se, just fun. I do like the Super Mario Bros as a guilt pleasure though. It's been a long time since I've seen it, yet I remember liking it even though it's completely silly. Mr. Nanny is a big guilty pleasure for me. It's so ridiculously cheesy.

Superman IV.

- Gothamite #4

I've learned that it's OK to be flawed - Winona Ryder

Judge Dredd is another one for me. I just love how Stallone and Armand Assante ham it up. It's so ridiculously cheesy, yet it is so much fun.

I think Nightmare on Elm Street parts 2 and 4 are very underrated, despite being loathed by many Wes Craven purists.

I thought part 2 was genuinely scary.

The later sequels are guilty pleasures to me. They suck, but are pretty funny at times.

Ghost Dad.

Ghost Dad, haha! I love people's guilty pleasure. Even if I don't like/rememeber them, it's just funny to see what we like that we're "ashamed" of.
