a wonderful, charming piece of 80s kitsch with great performances, comedy, fun and fantasy... PLUS what better theme song could you ever ask for?!! "Mannequin"" whether you like it or not is a true classic!!

I said almost the exact same thing the other day and someone said that there are still fun, campy comedies like this one and they mentioned "hot tub time machine". I totally disagree with that, there are no modern movies that can compare to the silliness of this one and it's just such a happy movie. Most filmmakers today seem scared of trying anything that's fun just for the sake of being fun, or whenever a silly movie is made, it's always badly made and has terrible writing, acting, etc. Mannequin isn't a masterpiece but, it does what it sets out to do and it does it well. There are many movies that seem to have been made at the perfect time and that's case with this movie. It only could have been made in 80s and I wish we had those times back again.
shareFor the most part I agree. Mainly to the point that the film accomplishes it's goal. It's pacing is sharp and believe it or not it has a great deal of style. I don't think people are afraid to make this kind of movie anymore, it's simply that there isn't much of a taste for it anymore.
