I was just watching Man on Fire (1987) and some of the bonding music between Sam and Creasy is the same theme as the one used when John leaves Nakatomi with his wife and meets Al face to face. I found it weird because they were composed by different people and only a year apart in release date. I found this surprising because I haven't seen this in another film before. Who else has seen this kind of thing before.

The theme you are describing was written by John Scott for MAN ON FIRE. It was used in the temp-track for DIE HARD and when that film's composer couldn't meet the deadline, they simply licensed the piece of music (a cue called "We Have Each Other" on the Man on Fire OST) and used it in the final film.
