American Cut and German Cut (Spoilers)

I recently bought the VHS of "Man on Fire" after watching the cut German DVD

I was expecting the same film as the German DVD only with scenes intact, the credits in English and the scenes in English which are in German on the English audio setting. But I was actually surprised by the different openings.

American Cut - Opening

The Movie opens during the credits with Sam rescued and Creasy being zipped up in a Body Bag which leads into Creasy's narration "And so. That's how I ended. A stiff in a body bag."

German Cut - Opening

The Movie opens after and during credits with the end as the beginning with Creasy yelling for Sam in the Trucks. The Young Terrorist fires at Creasy, the screen cuts to black then the narration "And so. That's how I ended. A stiff in a body bag."

Yeah, it seams the German version, although supposedly shorter, also has two short scenes which are not in the US version. The first one is set during a stormy night as the power goes out at the villa and Lenny starts narrating how he's suspicious of Bruno's behavior. The second scene is set after the first Sam's race where Lenny trains her and gives her some zen-like advices "what you want is the only reality" (or something to that effect).

Interesting, I'm sure those are the scenes that are in German Audio

Maybe they were never re-dubbed in English during Post Production
