Madhouse - 'Film 2000 Shock Horror Collection' -DVD

Just a bit of a warning to anyone thinking of buying this version of "Madhouse", the one released by the company Film 2000 with the cover featured in the link below has very, very poor sound quality. I had to watch the disc on my laptop with the sound connected to my stereo which was cranked up to maximum volume (normally ear bleedingly loud) and it was still muffled. Towards the end there is also some severe dips in sound. Music, as often the case, is far louder in the mix as well - so if you're watching this version you end up constantly adjusting the volume. Tedious.

The film is actually OK, and I would have enjoyed a better quality transfer (with better sound as you may have gathered), so please avoid this version like the plague.

Although no great masterpiece, this is a nice little film and it is certainly better than some of the other dross on the Video Nasties list. Anyone else notice Riz Ortolani just carbon copying his own "Cannibal Holocaust" score for this? Odd to note that film is also from the official Video Nasties list!
