Music in this film

I'm trying to find out who performed the music in this version of Made in Heaven, specifically the trumpet player. Does anyone have a copy of the soundtrack?

reply

Its the Motels singing the song, "We Never Danced". More specifically, Martha Davis (lead singer from the band) is the one doing vocals.

I have a copy of the song, but not the soundtrack (might have better luck getting into Fort Knox than finding that soundtrack).

However, you can find the song on one of The Motel's albums. Its called "Anthologyland", which was released in 2000.

In case you didn't know, the Motels was an 80s band that sang such hits as "Only The Lonely" and "Suddenly Last Summer". Those songs are also on the album "Anthologyland". If you like Martha's voice, then you'll like those songs too.

I don't know who's playing the trumpet though...so good luck finding that out.

See ya,

Scootman

reply

Thank you Scootman, I knew The Motels realized this song but didn't know in which album appears. I'll try to buy it today!

I am currently looking for this soundtrack. Where would be a good place to begin. If you have it burned on CD. Maybe you can download it to me if possible. What is the web site for PETER'S VINYL AND MUSIC ATTIC? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sly and the Family Stone are the group who sings "If you want me to stay, I'll be around today". It is the song that Elmo sings while he is driving the car and pouring dry cereal in his mouth as he heads down the road. Does anyone know who sings "Up the ladder to the moon, where we can see heaven much better?"

I LIKED ONE SONG BUT DON'T KNOW WHICH ONE IT IS, I HAVE THE SOUNDTRACK LIST, THINK IT MGHT BE MR. SOUL THE NEAL YOUNG SONG DONE BY BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD, IT WAS PLAYING ON THE CAR RADIO AS ELMO WAS RIDING AROUND. BUT AS I SAID I CAN'T BE CERTAIN UNTIL I HEAR ALL THE SONGS OR SEE THE MOVIE AGAIN. I AM TRYING TO DOWNLOAD THE SONGS AND FIND THE RIGHT ONE, I REMEMBER THINKING THE SONG WAS KINDA SEVENTIES SOUNDING - KIND OF LIKE THE BAND CHICAGO I GUESS WITH THE WHOLE HORN SECTION AND ALL.WHICH AFTER READING COMMENTS, I WAS THINKING THAT MAYBE IT WAS ISHAM SONG.... IT WAS AFTER ELMO WAS FIRST RETURNED TO EARTH AND DRIVING AROUND. I DONT KNOW IF THE SOUNDTRACK IS LISTED IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE IN THE FILM.

CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT SONG MATCHES THIS DESCRIPTION/TIME FRAME OF THE MOVIE?

"Only The Lonely". This great and wistful song which drove the summer of 1982 is a classic. For me it has the power to mark and triangulate a place, a time and a person. Every time I hear this it takes me back. God bless the power of music.

hiya buddy any chance i could buy a copy of the soundtrack from you?
[email protected]
let me know as soon as ,thanks

reply

Hi, I bought the sountrack of the movie last year and you can only find it as a cassette. There`s 3 pieces by Mark Isham ( one of my favorite composers)at the end of the cassette, that you can call it, the music score of the movie, because is the music you hear all along the movie. You can see him and other musicians like Colin Chin,Patrick O`hearn in the movie in the part that Elmo is recording the song "We never danced" in the recording studio.
If you have broadband I can send you the songs you want.

reply

Would you be able to send the songs to me ?

reply

I was wondering, could you possibly send that my way? I've been looking for that score for fifteen years, without any luck!

reply

JOrge, I used to have this soundtrack but moved and cannot find it. If it is possible, I do have broadband, can you send me those songs from the Made In Heaven soundtrack.

Thanks: email me at [email protected]

The song "We Never Danced" that is featured in this film was written by Neil Young and can be found on his album " Life ", recorded with his longtime bandmates Crazy Horse. It was released in the mid eighties on Geffen records. Anyone who likes this song will probably like the other ballard on the album, " When Your Lonely Heart Breaks". Hope this was helpful......

What a wonderful soundtrack...I recently watched this movie and had to download "Up The Ladder", "If You Want Me To Stay", "We've Never Danced"...what gems. I'd purchase the entire soundtrack if available.
Loved the movie as well. The cameo appearances by Ric Ocasek, Tom Petty & Neil Young was a nice touch.

reply

I have the soundtrack, had to buy the tape and transfer it on CD. But I also downloaded some songs on myspace.com for the movie Made in Heaven, if anyone wants to check 'em out, although you'll have to turn up the sound a bit 'cause I forgot about sound quality when I copied the music.

Go Here: http://www.myspace.com/madeinheaven1987

If anybody wants the soundtrack on CD, email me at [email protected]. I will send it for free, I used to charge for shipping but I want to make it easier for the Made in Heaven fans.
