So overrated, but still kind of good...

This in my estimation was one of the corniest vampire movies. But I still liked it! I think what seems to make it stand out, is that it intertwined youth with vampire lore pretty good. It was one of those movies where it can capture one's intrigue and entertain, even though in the end, something just seemed lacking to make it marvelous. I know some will disagree, but it's my humble opinion. The funny thing is, I haven't been able to put my finger on what it could have been lacking. One weird thing, was the location wasn't all that big (the mythical Santa Carla). So, how could a group of young people all technically be missing or lost when frequenting very public places? I'm talking more so about the vampire pack. If you agree or disagree, please fill me in with your take?

Watching it again, I think the Frog Brothers & Grandpa steal the movie away from Kiefer and the rest. Their scenes are all gold. I had a better time watching it when I was 12, but it's still a great film full of memorable dialogue and scenes.
