The Lost Boys was well ahead of it's time

With the exception of Sam's wardrobe this movie has really stood the test of time. It holds up incredibly well and is still super cool and a fun watch. The soundtrack is fantastic. Even the movie poster could still be used today and look like a modern horror movie (all those late 90's and 00's horror movies copied this poster style). The Lost Boys rules!

Except for the OP’s mastery of language (its = possessive form of “it,” while “it’s” = contractive form of “it is.” In fact, it is not well-written; and it was not “said” (spoken) at all.

Grammar, logic, precision: lost arts.

Yeah, details matter. Ask your surgeon, your attorney, your stock broker.

Yes it does. I saw it when it was released and still watch it today. Never tire of it.

Couldn't agree more with you :)

Really? I think this movie is 80s as hell (that's not a bad thing though, it's one of the reasons I love it) it has aged very well but it's just so late 80s - a complete time capsule to that time.

Came to say this. It's soo 80s. That's not timeless. Halloween is timeless.

Agreed, OP. Just watched it again and enjoyed it as much as ever. The music is awesome, the gothic feel and look and it still has the power to chill. One of the all time ageless greats.

I simply am not there...

Great point about the poster. The style and design was definitely influential on dozens of modern posters that feature simple head shots of the main cast and nothing else.

Yeah.

The scenes with the bike chase through the beach at night while "Lost in the Shadows" blasts in the background is still as cool to watch today is it was back in 1987!

"Say hello to the night!"

Yeah it’s great. It moves at a really good pace, it’s full of witty dialogue, the actors are perfectly cast and work brilliantly together, it’s haunting and scary, and that soundtrack will Never Die.
