It's not green lit but in development. They are considering trying to remake what is already great. Sad

Actually they want to make it onto a TV series. Its rumored that it will focus on the vampires. Each season will feature the vampires in different decade for 7 seasons. I have to say I'm intrigued but it all for nothing if they don't find the right script or actors.

Not only that. This show is up against shows from strong producers on the same network. From Berlanti,Plec,Williamson to Rothenberg.

It'd be great if Jason Patric and Jami Gertz were in the tv serie as the main stars of the series.

If that were to happen how would it work? Vampires being slayed in different time periods? It would make more sense having them from all periods and cultures attacking the frogs

Unless they tone things down, then a movie remake can't be worse than the "official" sequels (they weren't too terrible but still poor compared to the original).

A TV series? Might be worth checking out depending on who's involved and what network/streaming service the show will be on and stuff. Either way, the '87 classic will remain its own special thing.
