It came out a year earlier and the Susan Sarandon character is the same as the Virginia Madsen one. It also has the same older, younger player relationship. Critics didn't really call Ron Shelton out on it like they should have.
shareI disagree. Both are among my favorite baseball films ever. But each has a unique storyline and characters. Sure there are a few similarities, but you could draw parallels with just about any two movies ever made about a subject like baseball.
