Yes, my dog's name is Dixie, named after Virgina Madsen's character Dixie Lee Boxx (Girl Nut Roaster). I was struggling to find a name for her, so I was going through all of my movies trying to find a good name, and when I saw my copy of "Long Gone" it hit me!

I must have watched this movie in the summer of 87 on HBO 30 times. It was and is still one of my favorite baseball movies of all time. I ran into William Petersen at a sports bar in 2001. Apparently he had been nearby filming CSI and the bartender told me that he came in often to this particular bar when shooting to relax. He went outside and I followed after him and got up the nerve to speak to him.
He was very friendly. I had seen a few of his other movies as well by then.
( Manhunter, To Live and Die in L.A) but to me he will always be Cecil "Stud" Cantrell and told him that it was one of my favorite movies of all time. He told me that was the most fun he ever had making a movie because they basically got to play baseball for 2 months. He shook my hand and thanked me for enjoying his movies and because of that 5 minutes of interaction with him made me love the movie and anything he does even more..
