british

if they switched personalities, why did dudley moore still have a english accent. since kirk cameron speaks with an american accent, and they switched personalities then shouldnt dudley moore be speaking with an american accent

reply

No. The accents have to do with physical things, not personality things. Other than cartoons (where it doesn't matter who's voice it is), when two people switch bodies, they keep the same voice. This is for a few reasons. There's no point in filming someone mouth words then record another actors voice to coincide with the lip movements of the filmed actor. The actors won't want to film a bunch of scenes or record their voices to match lip movements. Also, it would make no sense for, say, Dudley Moore to have Kirk Cameron's voice. Now, if you're just talking about Dudley having the same voice but with an American accent and Kirk having the same voice but a British accent, again it wouldn't make sense. I mean, really. All of a sudden the dad has an American accent and the son has a British accent? That just wouldn't fly.

I wondered why Kirk didn't have a british accent at all. I mean, he heard it all of his life. You'd think he'd have a hint.

The actors are too lame to reverse accents.
