Time for a new dvd.

I really think it`s time now that this excellent Australian film gets a decent DVD release with suitable extras & the correct widescreen ratio. What`s going on?Does no one want a definitive edition or has it been totally forgotten Ozside? Not in the same class as Gallipoli but still worthy & deserving of better treatment.

Absolutely agree. I have been hoping for a wide screen version of this visually striking movie since it came out. Maybe someday.....

It is long past time for a first class restoration/transfer to DVD...DTS, which acquired Lowry Digital Images, has done a number of state of the art restorations, such as the Star Wars Trilogy.

The problem is who to start emailing? Does anyone know contact information for the studio or whoever?

For those interested, the Australian DVD is in the correct aspect ratio, has DTS sound and has extra scenes not included in the UK release.

Given some ungodly bad movies that have made it to DVD after a terrible run in the cinemas, yet still managed all kinds of bonus featurettes, etc., its a shame The Lighthorsemen doesn't merit a DVD re-release.

STILL!! I betcha the closer we get to the WW1 centennial, assuming that the world economies haven't completely collapsed, the film companies will look in their back catalogues for tie-in movies to sell to the interested public. That's the only way I can see Lighthorsemen getting a DVD re-release.
