The Lighthorsemen

If you enjoyed this film you should look out for the mini series entitled "ANZACS" which was made as a Television Mini series about the same time as The Lighthorsemen.

It follows a group of Aussies from the early days of 1914 to Gallipoli to the battle of the Somme, Paschendaele, Ypres, and the final battles of 1918 to the Aussies returning home in 1918 and 1919.

Well worth viewing, available in VHS and DVD from Australia.

A great series which also stars Jon Blake.

Hope you enjoy,

Anzacs is a quality series although sadly it`s largely unknown in the UK.I think it was shown here about 20 years ago but never repeated-still the Oz DVD is good enough.Jon Blake showed tremendous potential & it`s tragic what happened to him-good performances also from Paul Hogan & Andrew Clarke(considered for James Bond before Timothy Dalton got the role).

I remember about 20-25 years back or so when ANZACS - "The War Down Under" got a rebroadcast on local TV, mainly capitalizing on Paul Hogan's sudden (and brief) brush with fame in the US on account of the Croc Dundee flicks.
Unfortunately I didn't catch it then & wasn't too sure if the series dealt with WW1 or WWII. Now that I know, I need to get it! WW1 is a favorite topic of mine!
