VIVA PEDRO!

Hey everyone,

Sony Classics is doing a retrospective of the great Pedro Almodovar entitled "Viva Pedro". They're showing 8 of his films....

All About My Mother
Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown
Flower of my Secret
Live Flesh
Matador
Talk to Her
Law of Desire
Bad Education

They already have a website up for the retrospective at www.sonyclassics.com/vivapedro, look for specific city release dates soon.

I've got this great colection but I was disappointed. The All about my mother edition is not the same as the one that 20th Century Fox released with those extras and isolated music score. This one is a Sony Pictures release but no extras, no trailers, nada. Same with Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown. I thought also that this one was going to be adjusted to fit the screen (I use a projector to watch films here) and not to lose detail but it was not. I think it's the same copy that it was released by MGM. Matador and Law of Desire are a great releases even with no extras but we are still missing Tie me up, tie me down and High Heels. We need a Viva Pedro II with his 1st films on decent editions and a neat re-release of Tie me up, tie me down and Kika, an awesome 1st time edition of High Heels. And after this we will re-buy them on blu ray or HD-dvd edition LOL !!

Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down!, High Heels and Kika have different US rights holders. Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down belongs to Disney, High Heels belongs to Paramount and Kika belongs to Lionsgate (or Universal).
