Anyone else miss the 80's?

Showing my age here, but going to the movies was a huge, big deal.
There were no huge theaters in my neck of the woods. You stood in line hoping for a ticket, (if your parents were kind enough to drive you there). Rocky 3, Top Gun, Predator, Platoon and of course Lethal Weapon.
I just think we appreciated things more back then and that's why we still love these films today. Maybe it's just me. :)

The 80's were/are the best!

The 80s were great!

^People cared about 70mm, stuff like Star Wars and Blade Runner were meant for that.

I never lived in the 80's but it's my favorite decade by far, the only downside for me would be AIDS, no internet and the drug wars.

the 1880's. sure.

Where there's smoke, there's barbecue!

Yup, same here.

Plus, movie theaters and screens were actually BIG. Unlike today where they've carved up the same theater into 3 little screens so they can show 3 different movies.

Yes

I think, throughout the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, movies were a BIG deal again, like they were in the original Golden Age.

I love the 80's 😃

This is one of those questions I just can't leave unanswered.

I the 80s, it's fresh! It's original! It's colorful! It's creative! and it's BIG! It's also a time in which people were actually people! Sounds familiar doesn't it?

Nowadays, being an on the line SMART© whining mindless social media self exposer, seems to be the biggest thing ever. Reboots of 80s movies and music most of the time fail to deliver for me primarily because of the lack in originality.

Sadly I missed out on the good times and lost freedoms of those days. BUT I feel totally 80s.

Have a nice day!

Keeping the 80s up to date

Love all the movies you mentioned. Judging from your id, you like the Bugs Bunny Road Runner hour as well. I still watch it when I can. I think Wile E. Coyote had a good lawsuit pending against Acme products. :)

Getting wayyy off topic here. But you should check out Yosemite Sam and Foghorn Leghorn. Anything Mel Blanc did was classic! :)

Agree. Watching it now(01.12.14, and it holds up very well for its age.
