Didn't Bill Cosby beg people to not go see this film?

I seem to remember seeing him in an interview when it came out where he himself said it was terrible and people should boycott the film.

He sure did. In fact, he bought all the television rights to the film to ensure it would never be broadcast on tv. I've always considered this kinda crap on the part of Cosby. Seriously, how could a person read a screenplay about a guy riding and ostrich and fighting giant lobsters and not figure out how crappy it is? It's not like this guy is an oscar winner or anything. Ghost Dad was better, but not by much.

He must've not a good job then. It made its network premere about two years later on CBS, and I have seen it on HBO a few times.

I'm watching this stupid film on Antenna TV right now. If Cosby paid money to keep this film off TV, then he should get a refund.

I had a hard time sleeping and got up to watch something. I would rather see Gunsmoke or Three Stooges reruns instead because this film is nothing more than a curiosity and not a very good one at that.

Leonard Part 6 seems like a movie that was written in a hurry by low budget amateurs in hopes that suckers would pay to see anything starring Bill Cosby. Evidently, many people paid to see this film in 1987 but this was certainly a low point in the career of one of the greatest comedic actors of all time. I didn't laugh at all. Cosby looked sleepy and bored throughout the film and I felt embarrassed for him.

Are you sure that's even true? This movie was on television countless of times already.

LOL, reading the reviews about how bad this movie is cracks me up bc I first saw it as a kid. I was born in '83, so if this came out in '87, I would guess I was at least 8 or 9 by the time I saw it. My parents had the Beta (yikes) copy and my younger brother and I used to watch it all the time. Maybe it's bc we loved Cosby in our house and that was our fascination. I always found it to be an "odd" movie, but I really didn't know people hated it until I grew up! LOL

LOL! Me too. We ( my brother and I) just assumed it was supposed to be campy so, we'd just roll our eyes and laugh at how dumb it was. We'll still occasionally throw a "Quellish" at each other, as an inside joke.

Yeah, he disowned it, which is stupid, because it wasn't just that he acted in it. He also co-wrote and co-produced it. I guess he wanted to distance himself from it. *beep* him, he cannot escape blame for this.
