Don't get me wrong, it's a shïtty movie, but a 2.2? It's bad, but it's far from a rating THAT low. I personally gave it a 3 because no matter how unfunny and lazy it is, it at least has SOME competence and a little bit of effort here and there. I can't say that for Disaster Movie (which I am aware is rated lower, but not by that much), Baby Geniuses, and some straight-to-video crapfest like "Krampus: The Reckoning" and "Hellraiser: Revelations".

The reason it was so heavily bashed was not so much the movie but of the excessive product placement. That pretty much set off a "we're not going to put up with this" sentiment among critics. If you watch Roger Ebert's review that's probably still on youtube, he was downright angry when talking about the scene with awkward holding of a soda bottle to show the Coke label during a dialog. The pile of Lava soap wasn't much better.
