10 minutes into it and...

Not seeing what all of the fuss is about. Sure, it's by no means good, but what makes this film so awful? What are people expecting from it? It's supposed to be ridiculous humor... not well thought out and/or thought provoking. Dare I say it, but from what I've viewed... I'm actually finding a handful of things humorous. What is it about this movie that deems it one of the worst films of all time? Almost every "parody" film I've seen in the past decade has been far worse, and only a few of those make the bottom 100....

I'm assuming it's going to get very, very bad soon.... maybe that'll explain the mass negativity. :\

.:EDIT:.

Yeah... finished it, and I completely understand why it's so bad. If it weren't for a complete lack of plot and any sense of reasonableness, this might have been a slightly amusing film. It started off well enough, but by the time the whole hero thing starts up anything good about the film totally vanishes. I resend my comments, well deserving of a spot in the bottom 100.

The movie's probably almost over by now. How has it been so far?

It's UCS for me!

Napoleon Dynamite has a complete lack of a plot, and people seemed to enjoy that well enough.

Boy meets girl, boy likes girl, girl becomes mad at boy, boy and girl get back together at the end. Same plot as evey romantic comedy ever although I don't know if thats what they meant ND to be...

That's nothing, My alarm clocks set for 8. That doesn't prove a thing...

You can see how there might have been a good movie here - there are a few (not many, but a few) sequences and jokes that were probably funny on paper - but the pacing of the film is way too slow, and every joke just dies.
Cosby's displeasure with the project is quite evident just from looking at him in the movie - he looks uncomfortable and bored. He said that Paul Weiland was too inexperienced and he was probably right - even with an identical script, a better comedy director could probably have made a decent spy spoof with a few good laughs. It's too bad.

Well, Cosby blames Weiland, but Weiland blames Cosby, saying that Cosby was at a point in his career when no one would dare criticize him. Possibly true.

I thought it was bad from the start. Any movie that begins with a man flying through the air aboard an ostrich is generally going nowhere but downhill. I had been forewarned that this movie was toxic, but much like a ten car pile-up, I couldn't help but take a peek at it. So I popped it in and was shocked by the shoddy script and the stiff acting.

I can't blame Mr. Cosby for trying to disown this turkey, but unfortunately for him, his fingerprints are all over the crime scene. He is not only the lead actor, but also the writer and producer. This is his baby.

If you are considering watching this, I encourage you to think otherwise, and spend your time doing something more productive, like staring at a wall or watching the grass grow. This movie should be rated U, for unwatchable.
