I concur. It is sad. I do admire Joan Chen tremendously though. For a woman with no desire to become an actress she has carved out a wonderful career doing just that. She came to the U.S. to go to college and was discovered by a director. That's how she got into acting. Don't feel bad for Joan though. Look up her credits on imdb. She was very smart. She knew that there wouldn't be more roles like the one David Lynch had afforded her so she returned home and she's been working constantly while raising two daughters. She is currently starring in an Australian/Singapore drama called Serangoon Road and is just as lovely as ever. John Lone also continues to act. I haven't followed Ms. Wu's career but I suspect she's also done just fine for herself.
