I love it.

Mine too! This movie must have been released at my most impressionable age...I think it's a combination of the catchy familiar tunes and I always loved drawing and i fondly remember the scene were (LDP?) is collecting the old bugs bunny character from a bin, I think....anyway this movie has always been in my heart. I havent seen since i was kid, gotta go DL it now.

Definitely one of those movies that I watched over and over with my sister growing up. We both still love this movie today! Other ones we loved: Peggy Sue Got Married, Hook, A League of Their Own, Shag, Labyrinth....

I used to also loved this movie as a kid. I remember I would watch it sometimes 2 or 3 times a week when I was 7 or 8.

Same here, I used to watch this movie all the time with my sister when we were kids, just watched it again for the first time in probably at least 15 years and its still just as fantastic as I remembered it to be.

I agree. I remember how awesome I thought the trailers were and thought the "La Bamba" song perfomance was so extremely cool... I waited the whole movie for it. Remember when Los Lobos' version was on the radio all the time?!

I had two older brothers who were really into this movie for a time.

It's an ordinary film that for some reason I feel compelled to watch every so often. I do enjoy it even though I wish Bob would have less screen time. It is rooted in my teen years.

reply

I agree that Bob got too much screen time. They focused heavily on Bob / Ritchie's relationship to the point that they didn't give enough attention to Ritchie's relationship to his music, his childhood friends, and Donna.

reply

I would have loved to have seen more about Ritchie's music, his influences, why he loved music so much. We don't even see how or why he started playing guitar. Thinking about it now it's a crap film but I know I will still watch it again lol.

Old movie, yet somehow I never got around to seeing it until January 2022. Very good movie
