Jealous Beatty to suave Hoffman: "If I looked like you" + My Review

This part is hilarious, though not on purpose. I can imagine Channing Tatum saying that to Jonah Hill in another Jump Street.

This movie, to me, is a lot of wrecked fun for the first act, literally the first 22:00, when they are trying desperately to write a song. It's when they go to ISHTAR -- that's when the movie just drags, and drags.

While I don't think it's as bad as the reputation, and the fact this "comedy" film stars two actors who can do comedy but mostly if the comedy is part of the plot, like Hoffman in TOOTSIE (which, while filming, was taken very seriously) or Beatty in HEAVEN CAN WAIT.

Anyhow, I really do think this movie, had it a better title, and had it remained in New York for the first half, and then was tighter overseas, and kept the guys trying for fame and not thrown into a bland "Left Wing Heroes Vs Right Wing CIA" avenue, it might've been... half decent. Plus, the movie should have been titled after their song-attempt. DANGEROUS BUSINESS would have flowed better than ISHTAR.
