Final Scene (when Francis throws away the whiskey)
How are we to interpret the final scene, where Francis is on the train and throws away his whiskey bottle in (self) disgust, followed by a hallucination/fantasy conversation with his ex-wife? Does it mean that he's going to make an effort to stop drinking and return to a normal life, or was it just a single moment of regret (like everything else) that would pass?
I thought the latter - since Francis was by implication leaving Albany for good on the train.
