COME ON!

Seriously, this movie just flat-out SUCKS ASS!!!

I mean, it's BARELY more than 1 hour long, and at least HALF of it contains of old footage from classic bad movies! What's the point of even making the movie?? WHy not just make a clip-show!

Come on! B movies need love too, that's my motto. By the way thanks for the reply

Well yeah, I agree on that, but this movie was advertised as being a NEW movie, where Aliens took over the earth! And what it really was, was just a clip-show in disguise! I was really furious over that, even though the clips this movie "borrowed" *cough* stole *cough* were good.

I saw it con TV a long time ago by accident. I wasn't even aware of its existence. The “plot” is obviously an excuse to show those great clips, but that’s precisely my point, the clips are great, a great compilation of sci-fi movies in a fun attempt to pay homage (with those terrible ant-like suits)

Well, I think that if the movie was marketed as being just that, then I'd think it was great too, but since I was expecting a real movie when I bought it, you can imagine my rage after finding out what it really was.. I can't help but feel cheated.

reply

Damn, that's tough, I guess I would have been angry as well. Now I understand your feeling. It happened the exact same thing to me with the 1988 version of The Blob, it was THE BLOB but, with a cooler monster and without Steve Mcqueen. Felt cheated :(

Haha, well in that specific case, I actually liked the remake of The Blob very much.. it was much gorier than I had expected.. and it starred a young Kevin Dillon (fantastic as "Bunny" in Platoon) and Shawnee Scott (from the SAW-movies).. although it lacked the same "classic kitsch" feeling of the original.

I also bought a VHS of "From Dusk til Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money" once, where it stated that the movie STARRED Bruce Campbell as the gang-leader and Tiffany Amber-Thiessen as the vampire queen, lol.. (which of course, isn't true)

I once felt because of Bruce Campbell too. There’s this movie called The Dead Next Door, and someone told me that Bruce was one of the members of the zombie-squad. But when I got to see the film, it was Bruce Campbell’s voice dubbing the original audio. I said “damn it” still, the movie turned out OK

LOL, damn that sounds annoying.. but okay, his voice does sound cool though.. I wish Hollywood would wake up and give him some starring parts soon..

reply

Hell yeah! Bruce Campbell is the man! but I haven't watch My Name is Bruce :P

I found this movie amusing in parts but there is little more that can be said for it. I see that it contains a clip from THE MOLE PEOPLE and I would like to get this on DVD; does anyhone know how? Two marks out of ten for ALIEN INVASION.
