'Towel thrown in...'

I've always had many laughs and grins at this scene over the years. I as fascinated by it as a little kid, after seeing it in the theatre. If u watch it in slow motion, u notice that Dennis is wearing grey sweatshorts as the cab drives away. Does either the screenwriter or Quaid have a copywright on that visual gag? I've never seen it depicted on film before or since. The closest was a scene in a premium-cable movie where a guy loses it as he climbs the side of a building.

I failed to mention that my towel's off to Quaid and the producers and director for their brilliance.

In Desperate Housewifes, the same thing happens to Susan when her towel gets caught in a car door.
