both the actors who leaded in this movie passed away in 2003

they are Anita Mui and Leslie Cheung
they were most brilliant and most succesful actors in hongkong

I love this movie
I thought it was kind of ironic that they did this movie ages ago.
How it play out in real life.

So sad that they are gone.

Its a rather ironic premonition. My mother who was watching the movie with me noted it is sad that these two in real life passed away and also in the same year. Its as if Anita Mui went up to heaven to join Leslie. Its hard not to draw parallel comparisons between the movie and real life.

It wouldn't be surprising if that were the truth since Anita was quite fond and close to Leslie... the death of Leslie totally devestated her.

That is pretty weird that they both died in the same year. Having both leads from this movie dead adds to its fantastic ghostly mood. We screened this movie in my Fantastic Cinema class and our professor told us that both leads if this movie had recently passed away.

Anita thought Leslie wouldn't be able to go heaven so she sang prayers for him for 49 days, so he could re-incarnate instead of staying in hell because he ended his life. All that buddhist's view.

I don't intend to be offensive, but I have to defend my opinions.

Anita and Leslie's departures led to a gross vaccuum to be filled in HK. No one has yet been able to replace their star presence, talent, and beauty. They were one of the most amazingly well-matched and passionate pairs in cinema. Anita portrayed one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen through Fleur - hypnotic, melancholy, and so tragic.

I miss them both so much. Leslie and Anita were multi-talented superstar legends of Hong Kong. They contributed so many classic movie theme songs and unforgettable performances in the HK film industry. Irreplaceable loss...HK cinema is very much poorer for it.
