Who is this Sonny Wisecarver? Was he a real person? They said he was, but sometimes its a hoax to get you to watch the movie.
And, why is Patrick Dempsey so damn lucky to do these movies anyway?

Yup, he's a real person. You can see him in the movies in a cameo role as the mailman. http://imdb.com/name/nm0936434/
