I guess not many people have seen this one. It's worth seeing once if you're a Cusack fan.

Hey Les, do you have a minute? For you Brad, I"ve got five.

Great Movie, been a favorite for years.

I saw this film by accident about 5 years ago on British tv. It was on at about 2am and I was about to go to bed but stayed up as I'd just seen Cusack in Grosse Point Blank. I'd never heard of this one but I'm so pleased I watched it. Really good fun from start to finish. Would recommend it.

Gotta admit, this movie has really grown on me. And yes, if you're a John Cusack fan, this one deserves repeated viewings...for sure.

I had never heard of it either, but found it on VHS and it is pretty cool! If anybody wants to see it, I have it here, just look for it by alphabet!

"Now, I know I'm pretty, but I ain't as pretty as a coupla titties!"

reply

Meh, I only rented this because of Cusack...movie was pretty boring until the final 15 minutes, which saved it for me. Definitely not in the same league as 80s Cusack classics like Say Anything or Better Off Dead.

Indeed, this is well below the level of Cusack in his '80s heyday – or his '90s heyday – but Cusack makes it worth watching for the most part. 6/10 stars from me.

I found this film utterly confusing when I saw it on video back in '88. The ads for the film market it as a straight Cusack comedy caper, along the lines of Better Off Dead, or One Crazy Summer. The film I actually saw was a confused mish-mash of so-so comedy, and a thriller somewhat in the vein of Oliver Stone's Salvador. It had no idea what it wanted to be, and it left a kinda nasty aftertaste.
The taste of...being had by the marketing boys! What a mess.

reply

You are right about the marketing boys (and maybe girls), but this film is so confused and confusing that they didn't have much to work with here. There would be no way to sell this movie honestly except as a muddled mess with – hey! – John Cusack.
