Whatever happened to Sabastian Rice-Edwards?

This young actor showed incredible promise in 1987. Did he continue an acting career? Anybody know what he's doing now?

reply

He did indeed show incredible acting promise way back in 1987 & he was even nominated for a Best Young Actor category at the Young Artists Award Ceremony in LA that same year too.
However despite that he just was not interested in pursuing a career in acting which is a decision he seems to have come to whilst still filming Hope & Glory & indeed director John Boorman has since reminisced how during filming he had to cajole the uneager young actor into finishing his scenes & try to "inject" him with some much needed enthusiam too!
Last I heard he was working as a crew member on John Boorman's 1998 crime drama "The General" but after that no further info seems to be available-Sorry!

that kid was amazing... well i hope he's doing whatever he feels is right for him... what about the little girl, his sister in the movie? she was soooo adorable!!

This is a really old thread but I'm bumping it up to see if anyone else has any info on the young stars.

Sebastian Rice-Edwards looked like my dad when he was that age. And little Sue was soooo cute! I loved her. I love the part when she waves at Dawn's boyfriend then her little hurt face when Dawn tells her not too. Awww...

SR-E must be in his 30s by now.

I think he has a personal facebook page under the name Seb Edwards. If you type in Sabastian Rice-Edwards thats the page that comes up.

He's taking the knife out of the Cheese!
Do you think he wants some cheese?

I just checked it out (http://www.facebook.com/seb.edwards.9?fref=ts) and it does seem to be him. It looks like he's doing loads of traveling and living a happy life.

It was probably just as well he didn't want to pursue an acting career, very few child actors make a successful transition to adult roles.
