The song Dawn and Bruce are dancing to.....

It's called "In the Mood," and every fricking time a movie shows people dancing during the war, this infernal song is playing. This may have been the ten thousandth film to do so. It's a big stinky movie cliche.

When did you last watch this film? In The Mood is in it but that's not what they're dancing to. It sounds like Sing Sing Sing by Benny Goodman but it's not that...

reply

She's not singing In the Mood. She's singing a Cole Porter song called "Begin the Beguine". She also sings White Cliffs of Dover, at some point in that scene.

I'm also looking for this. I'm surprised I can't find it. I'm tempted to think that it was a custom piece.

reply

Ok, I found it.
It's called Hickory Hop and it's by the man who wrote the tunes for the soundtrack; Peter Martin.

I got someone to upload it to Youtube.
Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DX-Wk6VDK9c

It's modern fake swing, a weak imitation of "Sing, Sing, Sing".
